For the Major Exploration Project, students delved into the details of majors at UNE. I chose to research the Art and Design Media major, as it is one that I have been leaning towards since I got to UNE. After looking through the major description, course catalogue, and talking with Professor Gorham and Professor Burt, I have decided that this is the major that I want to pursue. This major allows students to explore a variety of mediums and develop skills in the art world. The major also requires a variety of non-art related courses that round out a liberal education. This projects was helpful in making me feel more confident to pursue art.

Major Overview:

Add new shades of expertise to your palette by blending the traditional with the contemporary. As an Art and Design Media major, you will experience the best of both worlds, merging study in classic studio arts, such as painting, drawing, and ceramics, with training in modern-day digital media, such as animation and 3D printing. Engage your creative side while learning real-world skills that are applicable across fields and disciplines. Make your “mark” at UNE.
